Mycelium
therapeutic immersion
with expanded states of consciousness
May 15-17 |Porthtowan, Cornwall
Mycelium is a professionally guided therapeutic retreat on the coast of Cornwall, carefully designed to help you reconnect with what matters most.
The retreat includes personalized preparation, multi-day facilitation in a small group setting with expanded states of consciousness, and follow-up integration afterward; with methods refined over decades of study and practice, we do everything necessary to ensure that the experience leads to real, sustainable change in your life moving forward.
This is not a spiritual getaway or a casual wellness weekend. It is a structured and intentional process for those ready to engage deeply, find clarity, and cultivate inner peace.
Due to the intimate nature of our work, we limit the group size to 10 participants.
Please book a call with us to explore whether Mycelium is a good fit for you.
Integrative Approach
Our focus has been refined through years of study and practice, drawing on disciplines ranging from Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) to Buddhist Meditation, from Existential Counseling to Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Our work is to explore with clarity and calm curiosity, to nurture both the neurological and the physiological conditions necessary for us to return more fully to life. We will guide you in exploring your self along three fundamental axes:
Explore your inner world.
We enrich the psychedelic experience with guided reflection, conversation, and insight practices that allow us explore the inner terrain where our patterns of perception and thought are most deeply rooted.
We take a gentle and progressive approach to transform the beliefs and habits that no longer serve us, creating the inner space necessary to sustain lasting change.
Attune to your body.
We explore how to better listen, nurture, and balance the body, with a special focus on the nervous system — which is where our cognitive capacity begins.
With a wide range of therapeutic practices, we guide you in cultivating a deep form of resilience that is necessary to face life's challenges with calm, presence, and vitality.
Reconnect with nature.
By immersing ourselves in landscapes of natural beauty and disconnecting from the frenetic pace of “normal” life, we are reminded of broader perspectives that allow us to find and reinforce our own natural rhythms.
Ultimately, we learn to cultivate a way of being that nurtures our most authentic self.
Tools & Methods
-
Explore the beliefs, behaviours, and emotional patterns that shape your life beneath the surface of your conscious mind.
Throughout the retreat we create a space for honest reflection, deep understanding, and compassionate transformation.
-
Experience the healing power of a safe and supportive group setting.
Carefully guided conversations, dynamics and exercises will help you connect — see and be seen — with both honesty and care.
-
Progressively access deeper layers of self-awareness through psychedelic journeys with careful professional support at all times.
Expanded states of consciousness help unlock new perspectives and catalyse profound inner growth.
-
Use breath, movement, and somatic awareness to reconnect with your body’s innate wisdom.
This process helps release stored tension and reshape the way emotions are held — and healed — through the body.
-
Surrounded by the rhythms of the natural world, we begin to slow down and restore balance — not just mentally, but physiologically as well.
We engage in practices to regulate the nervous system, reset emotional overwhelm, and restore a sense of clarity and connection that modern life often erodes.
-
Enjoy wholesome, plant-based meals designed to support both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Eating with care and intention becomes part of the therapeutic experience, helping restore internal balance.
-
Unplug from digital distractions to be fully present with yourself and others.
Letting go of screens creates space for deeper rest, genuine connection, and clarity of mind.
Background
For millions of years before humans existed — before mammalian life ever evolved — there were vast mycelial networks spread underground, quiet and invisible, sustaining the life of the jungles and forests that would later become our homes. Without mycelium it’s quite possible that the gift of human consciousness would never have come into being.
Mycelial networks still exist, of course, and still sustain the last remaining wild ecologies left on earth; not just beneath the forest floor, but also beneath the surface of our conscious minds.
This retreat is an invitation to return to our roots, to reconnect with who we truly are.
Underneath the stories we tell ourselves — about our identities, our possibilities or limitations, about the lives we “must” live — before even thought or feeling: your essential human nature is waiting to be discovered.
A Progressive Journey in Four Stages

For this retreat we will be drawing primarily on our therapeutic backgrounds in Existential Counseling and Internal Family Systems (IFS), along with somatic training in various forms of yoga, primal movement, and psychoneuroimmunology (PNI).
That said, we have both dedicated many decades to growth and healing in body and mind.
Our studies have taken place in structured academic settings, but also through a lifelong commitment to learn from the full gamut of human experience. This pursuit is far more difficult to classify or quantify, but it has taken us to many parts of the world, where we have experienced everything from working the orphans of Serbia to learning from shamans in the heart of Africa.
-
No. We will be using a carefully curated set of tools to help you dig beneath the surface of thought and feeling, to help you connect more profoundly with all that you are and all that you can be.
After many years of study and practice to refine our methods, we have come to see that these experiences can often catalyze profound and lasting change.
That said, however, it is always ultimately up to each one of us to do our own work and walk our own path.
No other human can or should deprive you of that fundamental responsibility, which is, after all, at the root of joyful living.
