Mycelium.
therapeutic immersion in nature
August 21-24, 2025
Mycelium is a professionally guided therapeutic retreat on the coast of Cornwall, carefully designed to help you reconnect with what matters most.
This isn’t a spiritual getaway or a casual wellness weekend. It’s a structured and intentional process for those ready to engage deeply, find clarity, and cultivate inner peace.
The retreat includes personalized preparation, multi-day facilitation in a small group setting, and follow-up integration as well; we do everything necessary to ensure that the experience leads to real, sustainable change in your life moving forward.
Due to the intimate nature of our work, we limit the group size to 8 participants. Please book a call with us to explore whether Mycelium is a good fit for you.

A Progressive Journey in Four Stages
Before signing up, we have a free intake call to learn a bit about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you might have, and provide more details about how we work. This is a necessary step to ensure that our group is coherent and balanced.
Stage I: Intake
We conduct one individual preparatory call, and another group call in the weeks leading up to the retreat. This is to cultivate the soil, the set and setting, which will allow you to engage with the experience fully.
Stage II: Preparation
Immersive experience in a private location, with a maximum of 8 participants.
We always adapt the exact retreat program to the needs of the group; the description below serves as a general guideline or foundation from which we will improvise as necessary.
However much the specifics of the program may vary, the essence remains the same: we are here to disconnect from the trappings of “normal” life that have left us dead inside, and reconnect with real life, which has been waiting all along, just beneath the surface of who we’ve come to think we are.

Step IV: Integration
* We are fully aware of the legal restrictions in the UK regarding the medicinal use of various plants and fungi species, and are committed to staying within the bounds of all relevant legislative frameworks. We move with care and respect. *
Integrative Approach
Our methods are founded on a simple insight, refined through years of study and practice in a number of different disciplines, ranging from Psychoneuroimmunology to Buddhist Meditation, from Existential Counseling to Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Mind and body, individual and relationship, human and nature: the greater the divide between these aspects of our selves, the more vulnerable we are to loneliness and frustration, to a gnawing sense of having had, and lost, some great unnamable thing. That thing is what we sometimes call Meaning, or Purpose, or Love: the ineffable essence that makes life feel worth living.
To find a deeper connection with this essence implies cultivating a fundamental trust or faith in life, which can be seen as the end goal of any therapeutic process or spiritual discipline. Whatever you call it, however you describe it, one thing we know is true: its spirit grows invisible like a mycelial network, rooted in the soil of our innermost being. It is not something to be discovered or created so much as a truth to be remembered, a reality to be felt.
Our work here is to explore internally with clarity and calm, to nurture both the neurological and the physiological conditions necessary for us to return more fully to life.

Meet Your Facilitators
-
Eric Haas
MIND·BODY THERAPY
Inspired by the realization that intellectual understanding is rarely enough to truly heal the existential scars that we confuse for our selves, Eric has travelled and studied extensively to develop a simple yet powerful practice with plant medicine that allows us to reunite body with mind, human with nature.

Chiara Vitali
INTEGRATIVE HEALTH
As a teacher and therapist, Chiara draws on her ability to listen deeply and observe attentively, helping clients to discover the causes behind the challenges they face. She has many years of experience navigating expanded states of consciousness, and uses somatic therapy as a powerful tool for deep healing.
Background
For millions of years before humans existed — before mammalian life ever evolved — there were vast mycelial networks spread underground, quiet and invisible, sustaining the life of the jungles and forests that would later become our homes. Without mycelium it’s quite possible that the gift of human consciousness would never have come into being.
Mycelial networks still exist, of course, and still sustain the last remaining wild ecologies left on earth; not just beneath the forest floor, but also beneath the surface of our conscious minds.
Mycelium is an invitation to return to our roots, to reconnect with who we truly are.
Underneath the stories we tell ourselves — about our identities, our possibilities or limitations, about the lives we “must” live — before even thought or feeling: your essential human nature is waiting to be discovered.

For this retreat we will be drawing primarily on our therapeutic backgrounds in Existential Counseling and Internal Family Systems (IFS), along with somatic training in various forms of yoga, primal movement, and psychoneuroimmunology (PNI).
That said, we have both dedicated many decades to growth and healing in body and mind.
Our studies have taken place in structured academic settings, but also through a lifelong commitment to learn from the full gamut of human experience. This pursuit is far more difficult to classify or quantify, but it has taken us to many parts of the world, where we have experienced everything from working the orphans of Serbia to learning from shamans in the heart of Africa.
-
No. We will be using a carefully curated set of tools to help you dig beneath the surface of thought and feeling, to help you connect more profoundly with all that you are and all that you can be.
After many years of study and practice to refine our methods, we have come to see that these experiences can often catalyze profound and lasting change.
That said, however, it is always ultimately up to each one of us to do our own work and walk our own path.
No other human can or should deprive you of that fundamental responsibility, which is, after all, at the root of joyful living.
